北見は以前はハッカの特産地でした。今もその伝統は残っていて少量ですが作られ続けています。
それが北見の特産品として販売されています。ハッカ油、飴、タブレットなど多くのハッカ入り製品が作られています。しかも北見産のハッカにこだわり続けています。その一つにつまようじがあります。
北海道原産のミントとつまようじが大阪に送られ、そこでハッカ付け加工をして再び北見に戻され、商品化されて百科店などの店頭に並びます。それを大阪のお客様が買われますと丁度2往復したことになります。流通とはそんなものなんですね。
In former days KItami was very famous for the producttion of mint. The tradition stil remain and mint is produced a little bit even now. The varioous mint products such as oil,candy and tablet are sold as souvenir.One of them is toothpick.
The round sticks and mint made in Hokkaido are delivered to Osaka and processed to mint flavored toothpicks.Then they come back to Kitami and become the finished goods and sold at the depertment stores. They have experienced two round trips between Hokkaido and Osaka.The circulation of products is very interesting.
